Our history
Asset.Insight. is a young company with a major ambition for growth. But we still have a rich history as part of VolkerWessels, a construction group that exists since 1854.
VolkerWessels enterprise
The company prospered and became a large and versatile construction group with operations both inside and outside the Netherlands. In the year 1997 Royal Volker Stevin, which was particularly active in infrastructure, and Kondor Wessels, specialised in building and property development, bundled their strengths and Royal Volker Wessels Stevin nv becomes a fact. In 2002 the trade name VolkerWessels is introduced. So a lot happened since 1854!
Best infrastructure company
Nowadays, VolkerWessels is a leading and versatile construction group. The ambition: to be the best infrastructure company in the Netherlands. The company has over operating companies and around 16,000 employees. We operate in the segments of real estate development, construction, installation technology, supply, civil engineering, energy networks, and telecommunications. The various companies have no problems reaching out to one another and complement each other’s expertise. This lets us offer an integral approach to complex issues. Its rich history means VolkerWessels has a complete and thorough knowledge of local markets.
Asset.Insight. joining forces
The forces in the field of measurement and inspection have been joined under the name of Asset.Insight. since 2018. Asset.Insight is a merger of various VolkerWessels companies. It comprises the ‘Inspectation’ and ‘Data Science’ components of VolkerRail, the ‘Hardening Control and Advice’ department of Aveco de Bondt, and the ‘Tecson Inspections’ component of MJ Oomen. Asset.Insight. inspects, measures, monitors, and predicts the quality of assets – using over 60 certified inspectors.
